Product Description
M1 Garand Bayonet U C w/Scabbard 10" "Bowie" Point WWII 1942 MODIFIED
Early Original Utica Cutlery "U C" marked M1905 M1 Garand Bayonet with "Bowie Cut" tip on blade and "E-US" marked Scabbard. Blade has US and Ordnance flaming cannonball, 1942 dated and "U C" code. This was originally a M1905 16" bayonet that was cut down to 10" as many of the longer original bayonets were modified this way in WWII when the 10" bayonet became standard length. You can tell these modified bayonets by the blood groove which extends to the tip. Shows age but otherwise in excellent original condition. One pictured is available. *Note "Bowie" Tipped bayonets are the earliest modified bayonets done during the war and the Bowie tip was stopped soon after since these resembled Japanese style bayonets. Interesting factoid about why they changed the style. Click on image for larger view of actual bayonet.Product Videos
