Yes its REAL! Springfield actually produced this oprod in WWII before going to the "D" without revision for their rebuild program. This is one of those Rare items, a -13 SA which is the 12th Revision Springfield Op Rod produced during WWII. (if you wonder if a 1 was added to a -3, NOPE! This is a FLAT side Oprod, -3's are curve side! I thought that too until doing some research, this one is mentioned by S.Duff in his book "The M1 Garand: World War II" on page 164 and I quote "This rod may not have been used on production rifles.
