M1 Garand Gas Trap Flush Nut/Lock Bar Short Pinion

VERY Rare and hard to find EARLY M1 Garand rear sight "SHORT PINION" with elev cap. The Short Pinion was used on early Gas Trap M1's with "Flush Nut" and Type I lock bar sights only (Sep '39 thru Nov '42). Threads are different than later long pinions used with the Type II and III lock bars. Elev cap on this one is the original cap and indicates combination is from a "Type I" sight since the cap is knurled vs checkered. Finish is original and excellent dark greenish parc. There are no part numbers under cap, threads are excellent and no rust or pitting on pinion.
