Springfield M1 Garand WWII Follower Arms. WWII Springfield Follower Arms can be identified by the casting numbers on side and rounded bottom edge of pivot leg. Late 1943 through early 1944, Follower Arms were modified with circular cut on drawing number side to prevent drag after Long Fork Follower Rod was introduced, replacing the Short Fork. All Original Springfield manufacture. Springfield follower arms with heat lot casting number on side were observed on WWII Springfield rifles from approximately serial number 2,2xx,xxx through 3,8xx,xxx end of WWII production and into the post war rebuild program.
